October 26 Making Strides Event in Volusia-Flagler
At DGM we recognize the impact on our families and yours, and remember that it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month once more. Once again the company sponsored a Team, captained by Brianna Toth, Office Administrator at D.G. Meyer. It is an honor to help raise awareness, and money, to battle this pervasive disease. The American Cancer Society sponsors events like the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K walk all over the country. Our local event attracted thousands, among them myself and Brianna’s Sister (President Joe Berger’s Daughter as well) Heather Eaton. Team Captain Brianna was unavoidably out of town this year, but Heather and I did our best to take up the slack.
Once again D.G. Meyer had a Special Edition Biketoberfest 2019 Tee Shirt printed to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The day started muggy, hot and sunny. This year both the starting point and route were different, and somewhat more challenging. Starting from Jackie Robinson Ballpark in downtown Daytona Beach, we walked down Beach Street with several thousand friends. Then we hiked across the daunting expanse of the International Speedway Bridge. We were thankful for the breeze up top, though the walk was a bit hard on the legs. We finished though, and were proud to once more have participated in this worthy event.
We are so deeply grateful to all those who walked, and to all those who donated to this important cause.
Thank You!
