Because the Air Vibrates with the Loud Rumble of Motorcycle Engines
Bike Week 2022 begins on Friday March 4th and lasts through Sunday March 13th. The ingress of iron horses generally starts well before the actual event though. Bikers, and the crowds who gather to ogle and spectate, are lured by the warmer southern climate and the holiday atmosphere the event generates.
While much of the United States is still on Winter-Time, in Central Florida it is usually full-on Spring. According to the long-range forecast, balmy temperatures in the 80’s may drop for a day or two in early March into the 70s before bouncing back. All in all, it’s looking good.
This year, 2022, will mark the 81st anniversary of the first running of the Daytona 200 race in 1937 (run on a on a 3.2 mile beach track and won by an Indian motorcycle). During those years it has evolved into a ten-day long festival filled with events and activities from south of Ormond Beach to New Smyrna.
Though Main Street in Daytona Beach remains the epicenter for much of the Bike Week action, there are numerous events scheduled throughout Volusia, Flagler and the other neighboring counties. All of the major races, including the Daytona 200, are held at Daytona International Speedway .
Bike Week includes many varied activities, including street festivals, live concerts, motorcycle races, bike shows, rallies and manufacturer showcases. Iconic destinations like Boot Hill Saloon, Full Moon Saloon and Iron Horse Saloon offer entertainment and live music. A trip to Daytona Bike Weeks wouldn’t be complete without visiting Destination Daytona and Main Street, or cruising the Loop north of Ormond Beach. There’s bound to be something for almost everyone.
The Bike Week Tradition Continues at D.G. Meyer
There have long been motorcyclist’s and enthusiasts among the owners, office crew and employees of D.G. Meyer. Aside from being avid fans of the sport and the Event, the company also recognizes that gatherings such as Bike Week are a big part of what keeps the local economy healthy and thriving.
In accordance with this interest in Bike Week and motorcycles, company founder Don Meyer first began having a commemorative tee-shirt printed to distribute among employees and friends in 1994. This custom has continued, and grown over the years, and these shirts have become both tradition and a staple of our year at D.G. Meyer Inc. They have become a collector’s item among many of our friends and associates as well.
We are happy to present the 2022 Bike Week Tee Shirt design here. To see the complete collection, beginning in 1994, visit our Gallery Page.
